GoodNews article: Body and mind therapist Eva Kuusk: the incredible and versatile power of human thought

Rikardia body and mind therapist Eva Kuusk says that she has always had a curiosity about human nature and behavior, and has sought to understand what motivates and guides us. Eva has also tried to find a balance between theory and practical experience, aiming to combine the best qualities of both worlds. She admits that she is most inspired by the opportunity to be part of someone’s journey. The way people share their stories and open up to find support and guidance is incredibly inspiring, according to Eva. Additionally, she shares a New Year’s tip for people on how everyone can strive for balance between body and mind.

Journey to becoming a therapist

Eva says that her journey began with an inward exploration, especially when she struggled to cope with her broken body and had to have her heart repaired by doctors. At the same time, she has always had a curiosity about human nature and behavior, wanting to understand what motivates and guides us. For example, how a bully becomes a bully and what is happening in the minds of both the bully and the victim, or how a child copes with insurmountable grief. “My journey has led me to various teachers, of course also to wise books, different supplementary courses, and schools. All of these and personal experiences ignited in me the desire to help others, continuously guiding me towards therapeutic work,” she says. She adds that on this journey, she has discovered and experienced many different therapeutic approaches, finding those that resonate most with her own values.

These approaches have provided Eva with a deep understanding of herself and people’s emotional, mental, and physical well-being in general. Eva has also sought to find a balance between theory, which provides a foundation for understanding and knowledge, and practical experiences, which allow these insights to be applied and experienced in real life to achieve the best possible outcome. “Today, I have reached a point in my studies where my work encompasses all three: body, mind, and spirit. I also view each of my clients through these three aspects, as when these three are balanced, they create the foundation for a healthy and satisfying life. My entire journey has been enriching for me, full of discoveries, and I am especially grateful for the opportunity to help hundreds of people on their journeys. This time has now been nearly 15 years,” she says.

The way people share their stories is incredibly inspiring

Eva admits that what excites her the most is the opportunity to be part of someone’s journey. To walk with people through their troubles and problems and help them find solutions and heal both mentally and physically. The way people share their stories and open up to find support and guidance is incredibly inspiring to her. She is energized by seeing the sparkle in people’s eyes when they discover new possibilities or begin to understand their strengths and resources. She is fascinated by the diversity of people and the complexity and uniqueness of their experiences. “This constantly offers me new challenges and opportunities to grow. Continuous learning and development keep me motivated. I like to create spaces where people feel heard, accepted, and supported – all things I once lacked. So that on this journey, everyone can find their unique direction for growth,” she says, adding that supporting others is a powerful way to keep oneself alert and motivated, and through human connection with others, she also learns herself.

What can be achieved with the power of thought?

Eva points out that the power of human thought is incredibly strong and versatile, capable of shaping reality and turning our dreams into actions. Thought power can sometimes help achieve unbelievable goals, inspire creativity, and help overcome obstacles and problems. It is one of the most important tools for personal growth in every aspect of life. However, excessive negativity can also be very powerful and significantly impact our overall well-being and quality of life. “I believe that the strength of thought is largely in our own hands. It can be our greatest ally or, conversely, it can limit our potential if we cannot use it consciously. For me, it is important to learn to use my thought power positively to achieve my goals and create a fulfilling life. Unfortunately, becoming a master at something requires strong training. Managing thoughts also requires training, attention, and dedication.”
